Nuestra Historia
Passion is our legacy, transformation is our path.
Morro Chico
Our family settled in Patagonia 140 years ago. We, the Gallies, are the 5th generation descendants of John Hamilton, a Scottish adventurer and one of the first pioneers in southernmost Patagonia (Argentina and Chile), who participated in the Gran Arreo of 1888 (Great Drive), taking around 5000 sheep and 500 horses, from Fortín Conesa, Rio Negro to Rio Gallegos, Santa Cruz, taking over 2 years and more than 2000 kms. on horseback.
We noticed a deterioration in Patagonia’s ecosystems. We wanted to improve that, and undertook the immense challenge of trying to solve the problem, generating economic, environmental, social and cultural value. Rethinking what was done historically with sheep farming, looking for creative, sustainable solutions and using the technology that is within our reach.
